An American director and producer, born in New York, United States. His parents were Myra and John Campbell McTiernan Sr., a lawyer and actor. He attended the Juilliard School and obtained a master’s degree from the American Film Institute. His works include Last Action Hero (1993) and Rollerball (2002).
