British director who started off as a ballerina then quit to pursue a career in film production and directing. She made her stage debut in a play when she was 19 years old and the play was shown at the Edinburgh Festival. She worked as a director and producer for over fifteen years in theater, television and film. She worked for BBC and National Geographic and later became an independent film director and producer. She produced a campaign for soft drink exporter Britvic J2O in 2015. As a director, she is known for Island (2011).
