An American screenwriter and director, born in Pennsylvania, United States. He studied at Temple University in Pennsylvania and New York University. He became interested in the 1946 Nuremberg trials, and wrote a script for a television drama about it. His 1971 TV movie The Marcus-Nelson Murders won him a Primetime Emmy Award. He's known for Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) and Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995). He died on March 25, 2008.
