She is an Iraqi actress from a literary and artistic family, born in Baku, Azerbaijan. Emel and her family settled in Baghdad, where she started modeling and because of her height and natural beauty, she caught the attention of film and television directors. She was the first girl from Kirkuk to have a lead role in a series named Nadia (1988) and first to win Best Actress Award in Iraq. She is also known for Six by Six (1988), Witness and Case (1988) and The Game (1989). She emigrated from Iraq to settle in exile.
