An American actor and producer, born on January 5, 1969 in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. He debuted in 1997 with Ghost Stories. He is best known for Wristcutters: A Love Story, Take Shelter, American Hustle, and Death Note.


Shea Whigham, born in Florida in 1969, is an American actor best known for portraying Elias "Eli" Thompson in the award-winning HBO series "Boardwalk Empire." Whigham graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase, after which he co-founded a New York based theater troupe, the Rorschach Group, which he headed for three years. He began getting television roles in the late 1990s, which led to him snagging a starring role in "Tigerland" (2000) alongside Colin Farrell and future "Boardwalk Empire" co-star Michael Shannon. Since then he's worked with some of Hollywood's top directors like Martin Scorsese, Robert Redford, Terrence Malick, Werner Herzog, Oliver Stone, David O'Russell and Robert Rodriguez.
