A French director, born on October 1, 1943 in Dravay, Essonne, France. He studied at the Ecole Vaugirard in Paris, then studied literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. He directed and wrote many well-known films, including: Enemy at the Gates in 2001, Two Brothers in 2004 and Seven Years in Tibet in 1997.
