American director, producer, and actor born Edward Demme on 26 October 1963 in New York. He began his career by directing music videos such "Push It" for Salt-N-Pepa in 1987. His works include Beautiful Girls (1996), Life (1999), Blow (2001), and A Decade Under the Influence (2003). He passed away on 13 January 2002 in Santa Monica, California.
