An Iraqi poet and writer, born in the 1950s as the fourth son of ten siblings in the village of At Tannumah, Basra. He lived there as a child before his family moved to live across the river in the locality of Al-Asma’i. He worked in Kuwait for Al-Qabas newspaper. He is known for Hanzala's Journey.
