An Iraqi poet, writer in the early fifties, and the fourth son of ten brothers of boys and girls in the village of Al-Tanuma, one of the districts of Shatt Al-Arab in Basra. He lived there as a child before his family moved to live across the river in the locality of Al-Asma’i. He worked in Kuwait for Al-Qabas newspaper. He is known for Hanzala's Trip.
