A writer, director, and producer, he is of mixed Korean and Japanese ancestry. He received his education at Harvard University, USC Film School, and Boston University School of Law. He got married to Susan F. Chey, and they have 2 kids together. He has a large number of commercially successful and critically acclaimed credits. He is known for Fakin' Da Funk (1997), Live Fast, Die Young (2008), and David and Goliath (2015).
