An American director, writer, and producer, born on June 7, 1928 in Berkeley, California. He graduated from the School of Film and Television at California Southern University. He is known for A Room with a View, Howards End, The Remains of the Day, and Call Me by Your Name - for which he won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2018.
