An American writer and producer, born March 23, 1945 in New York. He graduated from Yale University. He is famous for writing detective works. Among his most important works are: the series Hill Street Blue between 1982-1987, NYPD Blue between 1993-2005, Deadwood between 2004-2006, and Brooklyn South between 1997. -1998. He married Rita Stern.
