Iranian-American film director, screenwriter, and producer, born in New York. She graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in comparative literature, the University of Michigan with an MA in Near Eastern Studies, and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with an MA in film. Additionally, she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Language and Literature at the University of Shiraz. Her most important works include The Persian Version (2023), Viper Club (2018), and Circumstance (2011).
