An Italian-Swedish actress, born in Rome, Italy. She began her career in modeling. She was engaged to director David Lynch from 1986 until 1990. Her cinematic debut was in the film A Matter of Time (1976). She was President of the Official Competition Jury at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in 2011. Some of her credits are Red Riding Hood (1987) and Death Becomes Her (1999).
