An American musician, songwriter and producer, born in Cochran, Georgia, USA. He moved to Florida in his teens, after which he began a career that spanned fifty years, writing and producing for artists including Betty Wright, Sam & Dave, and Gwen McCrae. His songs were featured in a number of films, such as The Midnight Meat Train (2008) and The Infiltrator (2016). He died on January 17, 2016.
