An American actor, director and author. He was born on September 9, 1923 in Los Angeles. He began his artistic career in 1943 participating in theater and television works. He played his first supporting role in the movie Picnic in 1955, followed by the movie Autumn Leaves in 1956. Among his most important works: Spider- Man in 2002, Escape from LA in 1996, and Three Days of the Condor in 1975. He won an Academy Award for his role in the movie Charly in 1969. He died on September 10, 2011 in Long Island in New York.
