A British actor, director, and writer, born in London, England, United Kingdom. He studied acting for three years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and graduated in 1995 with a degree in acting. He began his career in Silent Witness (1996). He is known for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Exorcist: The Beginning, Cloud Atlas, and Dunkirk.
