She is a Scottish writer, born on September 7, 1959, in Aberdeen, USA. She began her career writing plays for television and radio before moving on to write TV shows and films. She is known for Oranges and Sunshine (2010), Bumping the Odds (1997), and Doctor Who (2017). She shared a BAFTA TV Award for Best Single Drama for Bumping the Odds (1997).
