A British writer and editor, born in 1960. She studied English and graduated from Oxford University. She is Chair of the Writers' Guild of Great Britain Film Committee and serves on the board of the International Screenwriters' Festival. She started her career as an editor of documentaries and films before launching her writing career by working on films. She is known for Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003), Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022), and Wuthering Heights (2011). She received a BAFTA Film Award nomination for "Best Screenplay - Adapted" for Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003).
