He is an American screenwriter born on August 16, 1956 in Caracas, Venezuela to Hungarian parents who survived the Holocaust. He studied at a college in Illinois. He worked as a journalist in Canada and joined the National Enquirer in Florida in the late 1970s. He co-wrote the script for the 1995 romantic film The Affair, and participated in a series of television films, including Sherlock Toms (2017), and Man on a Ledge (2012).
