Sean Hayes was born in Chicago, to a lithographer father and a mother who worked at a non-profit foof bank. Sean studied music at Illinois State University. He later joined The Second City theater troupe. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles and worked in a restaurant. Two years later, he appeared in a series of commercials, which made him famous. He made his acting debut in the 1986 movie Lucas. His notable films include The Bucket List (2007).
