She is a Spanish actress and director, born on June 12, 1967, in Madrid, Spain, as María Icíar Bollaín Pérez-Mínguez. She is known for Maixabel (2021), Take My Eyes (2003), and Mataharis (2007). Among her numerous nominations and awards, she won the Mercedes-Benz Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1999 for her film Flowers from Another World.
