An Egyptian/French director, writer, and producer, born in Beirut, Lebanon. She obtained a BA in Political Science in 1984 and a MA in the same discipline in 1986 from the American University in Cairo, and worked as a press reporter for the U.S. News & World Report Agency. She also worked as a television researcher and assistant producer in Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Algeria between 1984 and 1990. In 1990, she began directing documentaries for French television and the BBC. From her works: Cuba: An African Odyssey (2007).
