A Japanese actress, born in Tokyo, Japan. She worked in many television programs and commercials, then made her acting debut in the series LxIxVxE (1999). However, her breakthrough was through her role in the movie Battle Royale (2000), and since then, she has become famous throughout East Asia. Her work includes 47 Ronin (2013).
