A Filipino actor, director, and screenwriter, born in Manila, Philippines. He is the older brother of actor and TV presenter Bearwin Meily and the father of director and cinematographer Kiko Meily. He studied at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts and the Mowelfund Film Institute. He began his artistic career directing commercials, and in 1988, he directed the short film Sentry, which was his debut, and it was nominated in 1989 for the Best Short Film Award at the Gawad Urian Awards. Among his works as a director and writer are: Crying Ladies, Elemento, and El Presidente. He also acted in most of his works.
