A Syrian writer, born on December 9, 1949, in Damascus. He obtained primary and secondary education from Damascus schools and joined the University of Damascus, graduating with a BA in Arabic language and literature in 1974. After that, he joined the Faculty of Education, where he obtained a diploma in education in 1978. A year later, he started doing post-graduate studies in education. He worked as a teacher and a journalist and became a member of the Palestinian and Arab Writers Union.
