An American writer, who grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas, then decided to move to Los Angeles in 2001. In 2007, she published her first novel, Derby Girl, which she later adapted into a movie called Whip It (2009), which she followed with the movies What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012), and If Stay (2014).
