British director, born on December 9, 1951 in London, United Kingdom. He studied law at Trinity College, Cambridge before studying for a BA in theater design at Wimbledon School of Art. In 1981, he founded Ormerod Cheek by Jowl with Declan Donnellan. The company has operated in more than 400 cities in 40 countries spanning six continents. Since 2006, he has been part of the Barbican's Theater Program - BITE which has led to co-productions of works such as The Changeling, Cymbeline, Troilus and Cressida. He was awarded the OBE on the Queen's Birthday 2017 for his services to Theatre Design in England.
