American actress, born on March 28, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her mother was a nurse and her father is Bernard John Wiest, a dean and socialite. She studied at the University of Maryland, and in 1969 she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences. She also studied theater. She is known for Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), The Lost Boys (1987) and Bright Lights, Big City (1988) .
