American film producer, screenwriter and director, born on August 24, 1951 in Los Angeles. He began studying acting at the age of nine, and at twelve he worked professionally in two off-Broadway productions. He began his film training by apprenticing in the editing rooms of films such as Marjoe (1972). His credits include The Celluloid Closet (1995), Howl (2010) and Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice (2019).
