Kathryn Ann "Katee" Sackhoff is an American actress, born in Portland, Oregon. She began acting after a knee injury prevented her from pursuing a career in swimming. Her first role was in the television film Fifteen and Pregnant (1998), in which she played a pregnant teenager. Sackhoff's first recurring role was as Annie in the MTV series Undressed, which she followed by the role of Nell Bickford in The Education of Max Bickford. Her feature film debut was in My First Mister (2001). Sackhoff's most notable role is as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the miniseries and follow-up TV series Battlestar Galactica, for which she won a Saturn Award in 2006 for Best Actress on Television. In 2013, Sakhoff appeared in three films: the dark comedy “Sexy Evil Genius,” the psychological horror “The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia” and as Dahl in the British-American sci-fi film “Riddick.” In 2014, she played the role of the mother in the horror film “Oculus.”
