American actress of an Irish descent, born on November 29, 1960 in New York. She started acting in the theater of a local restaurant at the age of 17 while she was in high school. After that, she auditioned for the role of Vickie La Motta in the movie Raging Bull and won the role, becoming her most important role. Through this role, Cathy was nominated for an Academy Award. After that, she made many other notable films such as Neighbors (1981), Soapdish (1991) and Analyze That (2002).
