Karl Malden was an American actor, born in Chicago, US, on March 22, 1912. He has presented many significant theater, film, and television roles throughout his career. His notable works include On the Waterfront (1954), Baby Doll (1956), Patton (1970) and A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the latter. He died on July 1, 2009 (age 97).
