A British actor, born on November 25, 1944 in Denby Dale, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. He studied at the Northern Territories College of Education in Newcastle upon Tyne. He taught English and Drama in Walthamstow, before joining the theater company Leeds Playhouse. His works include The Remains of the Day, Queer as Folk, Downton Abbey, and Enola Holmes.
