An Ethiopian director, born in 1946 in Gondar, Ethiopia. He studied acting and directing at the Goodman Theater in Chicago, then moved to the University of California to study the art of cinema, and then studied at Howard University in Washington. Among his most important works are Teza (2008) and Sankofa (1993).
