Polish cinematographer and director born on 27 June 1959 in Ziebice, Poland. He earned a BA in cinematography in 1987 and earned a master's degree from the American Film Institute. He formed a partnership with Steven Spielberg and began serving as DOP on his films since 1993. He earned Academy Awards for Best Cinematography for Schindler's List (1993) and Saving Private Ryan (1998). His other works include Minority Report (2002) and War Horse (2011).
