American actor and director born on 5 August 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, US. He attended Temple University where he majored in African American Studies as well as Film and Media Arts. He is best known for portraying Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey's Anatomy (2009-2022). His other works include The Cabin in the Woods (2009) and Brooklyn's Finest (2009).
