American actress born on 4 July 1919 in Santa Monica, California, US. She made her acting debut in 1932. Her most notable works include The Old Dark House (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1938), and Titanic (1998), her role in which earned her an Academy Award nomination, making her the oldest actress to ever be nominated. She died on 26 September 2010 in Los Angeles, California, US.
