American writer, born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the US Army in 1943 and was stationed with a medical unit in the US occupation forces in Berlin. His works include Little Big Man (1970), Meeting Evil (2012), and Neighbors (1981). He died on July 1, 2014, in New York City.
