A British director, producer, and writer who was born in London, England, UK in 1958. Softley was educated at St Benedict's School, Ealing, London, and Queens' College, Cambridge University. He married Sarah Curtis. His most famous works include Backbeat (1994), Hackers (1995), K-PAX (2001), and The Skeleton Key (2005).
