An American actress and producer, born in Newark, New Jersey, on July 4, 1924. Eva Marie won many film and television awards, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1955. Among her most notable work: On the Waterfront (1954), North by Northwest (1959), and Superman Returns (2006). Eva Marie finished high school in 1942. In 1946, she graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, then she joined the Actors Studio in New York. She began her acting career in 1947 on television, and presented 20 series, before she made her film debut in Elia Kazan's On the Waterfront (1954), starring opposite Marlon Brando, after her huge success, she continued her film career. In 1959, she was chosen by Alfred Hitchcock to star in his movie, North by Northwest, opposite Cary Grant and James Mason. She also continued to work on television along with films.
