Chinese writer and director born on 10 June 1972 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. He attended the high school affiliated to China's Central Academy of Fine Arts when he was 16. His most notable works include The Butcher, the Chef, and the Swordsman, Mojin: The Lost Legend, Soap Opera, and Fengshen Trilogy.
