American actor born on 20 December 1946 in New Jersey, US. He began his career appearing in supporting roles in 1982. He is famous for the series The West Wing, his role in which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award in 2002. His other works include L.A. Law, Forget Paris, and The Rock. He died on 16 December 2005 in Los Angeles, California, US.
