A writer of novels and short stories, she is one of the prominent figures in Canadian literature. She graduated from The University of Winnipeg with majors in Arts and Theology. Her writing credits include Rachel, Rachel (1968), A Bird in the House (1973), and To Set Our House in Order (1985). She died on January 5, 1987, in Smith, Ennismore, Lakefield, Canada.
