A German actress and singer, born in Hanover, Germany. She spent her childhood in Dresden, Germany. She studied at a high school called Höhere Töchter and moved to Berlin in 1922 with her family. She studied acting and singing, and soon began singing, while her first silent film was Männer vor der Ehe (1927). She also had a relationship with the producer Hermann Schwerin, and in 1960, she performed on stage in Hamburg and at the Hebbel-Theater in Berlin. Her film credits exceeded one hundred films, such as Fanfaren der Liebe (1951) and The Divine Jetta (1937). She died in a road accident in Bavaria.
