Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, American musician, singer, and producer Randy Jackson is best known for serving as a judge on the program American Idol and as an executive producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew as well. He began his artistic career in the early eighties when he worked with the rock band Taxxi, then traveled to Italy and worked with the Italian pop star Zucchero and played bass guitar with the band Journey. He also collaborated with a number of the most prominent international stars such as Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, and Madonna. Jackson was also the musical director of Mariah Carey in 2006, and in 2008, he released the album "Randy Jackson's Music Club, Vol. 1", which he co-produced. His credits include The Truth About Cats & Dogs (1996) and Cool Runnings (1993).
