An American actress, born in New Ulm, Minnesota, USA. She won the Golden Globe Award in 1964 for The Birds (1963). She married the actor Peter Griffith (1952-1961), and they had a child. Then she married the producer Noel Marshall (1964-1982), then Luis Barrenechea (1985-1995). In 2002, she got engaged to veterinarian Martin Dinnes. Her works include Marnie, Roar, and Tea with Grandma.
