American screenwriter, film director, and film producer, born in Mount Vernon, New York. He was born to an Italian American family. He attended Wake Forest University in the mid-1960s and earned a Master of Arts degree in 1971. His production work includes The Rockford Files, I’ll Fly Away, and The Sopranos.
