A Portuguese soldier, journalist and writer, born on March 12, 1867 in Porto, Portugal. He completed high school in 1891. After that, he joined the Military Academy. Among his works are: O Doido e a Morte, As Ilhas Desconhecidas and Gebo and the Shadow. He died on December 5, 1930 in Portugal.
