An Egyptian author and art critic, born in El Mahalla El Kubra, Gharbia Governorate. His journalistic writings are famous for their political nature and harsh criticism, in addition to his novels such as "Night Creatures of Sorrow" and "When Seagulls Cried," which were published after his death. Among his credits are The Caucasian (2001), The Case of Mr. Munged (1994), and The Coat (1979). He died on October 24, 2017.
