Indian director, actor, and producer, born on February 15, 1964 in Kolhapur, India. He is best known for Swades (2004), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), and What's Your Raashee? (2009). His movie Lagaan (2001) was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Foreign Language Film in 2002.
